  • Dr.
    Erika Schumacher
    Doctor

Dr. Schumacher is a passionate advocate for child and adolescent health and wellness. She takes a holistic approach to manage all patient concerns, no matter how small. She is passionate about the rights of children and young adults to live safe, healthy, and productive lives.

Dr. Schumacher has practiced medicine in Farmington since 2015, after several years spent practicing at Yale-New Haven Hospital and Meriden Pediatric Associates, in Connecticut. She has two daughters who are students in RSU 9. Dr. Schumacher and her family live in Farmington with their two kitties, Chocolate and Henry.

Dr. Schumacher has several special interests in pediatric medicine. In addition to her interest in pediatric behavioral health, she dedicated much of her early career to learning and practicing pediatric medicine in developing countries, including India, Cambodia, and Grenada. She subsequently directed the Pediatric Refugee Health Clinic at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT, after completing her training there. She authored the chapter on pediatric immunizations for the 2014 textbook, 'Refugee Healthcare: An Essential Medical Guide,' published by Springer.

Dr. Schumacher was thrilled to join the Board of Directors of the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area in 2021. She has also served as the medical consultant for Titcomb Mountain in Farmington, and Kents Hill School in Readfield. She is engaged with a number of community initiatives including the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, which advocates for and provides space in downtown Farmington for entrepreneurial and life skill development for youth in Franklin County. The CES also advocates for the development of safe housing opportunities for families in western Maine.

Dr. Schumacher loves being outdoors with her kids and eating good food. She is excited for the opportunity to practice pediatric primary care in western Maine!
